WAV - CD ROMs FAQ

Which hardware and software samplers are supported?

All WAV compatible samplers (Native Instruments – Studio Battery Drums, Kompakt, Intakt, Kontakt. Emagic – EXS 24, Steinberg - Halion, Digi Design – Sample Cell, Nemesys - Gigasampler, BitHeadz - Unity DS1,
Image-Line Software - Fruity Loops and many other VSTi compatible samplers for PC and Mac), Kurzweil (K2500, K2600, K2661 and K2000 with the newer OS installed), E-mu (E4 Ultra series), Akai (S5000, S6000, Z5, Z8, MPC500, MPC1000, MPC2500, MPC4000), Yamaha (A4000, A5000).

My old hardware sampler has neither CD-ROM drive nor SCSI terminal. How can I use your Wave:Art collections?

Check the technical documentation for your instrument, to see if it supports MIDI sample dump standard (most samplers do). If your machine is compatible with MIDI sample dump you can use software programms such as Sonic Foundry Soundforge or Propellerheads Recycle to send the WAV file via MIDI to your sampler.

The other, and much faster way is to use software that can create native disks for various older samplers from standard WAV files such as S-Disk for Akai or universal software converters like Chicken Systems Translator or Awave.

You can also send the samples directly to your sampler from the output of your computer sound card. In such case use the WAV CD-ROMs for PC and WAV compatible samplers.
