Art of Sound Announces Collaboration with the Surge Synth Team
At the beginning of 2026, Art of Sound established a close collaboration with the developers of the open-source project Surge XT, which has long been regarded as one of the most respected free software synthesizers available. The collaboration was initiated in connection with the integration of our original AOS-Wavetables into the upcoming Surge XT 1.4 release.
Selected AOS Wavetables are already included in the new sound collection Infinite XT – Volume 1, created for the current Surge XT version 1.3.4.
We chose to take this step because we consider Surge XT to be one of the most advanced modern software synthesizers available today. It offers not only a thoughtfully designed and flexible user interface, but also exceptional sound quality and extensive sound-shaping capabilities. Thanks to its architecture, Surge XT is a highly versatile instrument that is equally at home in ambient and cinematic music, sound design, electronic genres, and modern hybrid production. Its sonic potential enables the creation of delicate textures, complex digital structures, and classic analog tones, opening the door to a wide range of creative approaches.
Another major strength of Surge XT is its advanced support for MPE (MIDI Polyphonic Expression). This allows the synthesizer to work exceptionally well with instruments such as the LinnStrument 128 and LinnStrument 200 by Roger Linn. This combination unlocks new possibilities for expressive performance, modulation, and real-time sound shaping that conventional MIDI control cannot provide.
The Surge XT project is led by experienced developers, including Mario Krušelj (EvilDragon) — a well-known sound designer, scripter, and long-time collaborator of Native Instruments — and Paul Walker (BaconPaul), an open-source developer, musician, and principal maintainer of the Surge XT project. Paul also contributes to other notable projects such as OB-Xf, Shortcircuit XT, and the CLAP plugin standard. Their expertise, long-standing experience, and open approach to development play a significant role in the quality and ongoing technological advancement of the entire project.
We are delighted to see this collaboration become a reality. We believe that the integration of AOS-Wavetables will further expand the sonic and sound-design capabilities of Surge XT, providing users with new sources of inspiration for music production and creative exploration. We look forward to the next steps in our collaboration and to seeing where this partnership will lead in the years ahead.

Infinite XT - Volume 1 (Surge XT)
Art of Sound announces the official release of Infinite XT - Volume 1. This is a brand‑new collection of modern sound presets created for the free, open‑source VST synthesizer Surge XT. The collection offers 210 carefully crafted sounds organized into seven categories, including atmospheric pads, textures, sequences, basses, plucks, keys, effects, and more.
Infinite XT - Volume 1 is built on entirely new AOS‑Wavetables, which significantly expand the sonic capabilities of the Surge XT synthesizer. Each preset makes full use of the instrument’s extensive modulation features, precise LFO‑to‑BPM synchronization, and individually designed modulation wheel and macro assignments.

During 2025, we began a major overhaul of our website. Significant updates were made not only to the visual design but also to the site’s security. Our main focus has been on improving clarity and making it easier to navigate our product offerings and technical documentation. We’re currently finalizing a set of articles about the synthesizers we use in our studio. We hope the revamped website enhances your experience and proves valuable to you.
We would like to inform you below about the key changes in each of the main sections:
Products
You’ll now find links to two dedicated pages: New Products and Full Products. In the Full Products section, we’ve introduced a new MP3 player, allowing you to browse and listen to our complete collection of demo tracks (320kbps bitrate), sorted alphabetically. This page also enables filtering by parameters such as instrument type, product name, discount, or price.
Sale
The Sale category has undergone a major visual and structural update. Products are now clearly organized by synthesizer and sampler types, making it easier for you to find discounted items for your instrument equipment.
Support
The Support section has been improved for easier navigation. You’ll now find a clear and concise FAQ and an updated Info section featuring the latest details about our product lines.
Downloads
This section has been completely redesigned with a focus on usability. Content is now sorted alphabetically and presented in a modern layout. You can easily download PDF documents related to specific product collections. Each file name includes the relevant synthesizer type to help streamline navigation. These updates were guided by your feedback, and we hope they make it faster and simpler to find essential information—such as Sound Program Lists and more.
News
This section has primarily undergone a visual update, which includes several new photos from our long-term collaboration on various operas and theater performances.
Community
The Community section also features a new visual design. While we considered adding a customer forum, we’ve decided to postpone this due to security concerns. Protecting our website and customer accounts remains our top priority. Unfortunately, keeping up with today’s increasingly complex cybersecurity threats demands significant effort and investment. We appreciate your understanding.
Services
The Services section has also been redesigned. We’ve added a new Testimonials subsection, where you can read feedback and experiences from our customers. We believe this collection of positive reviews will continue to grow as we work hard to deliver quality and value.
Articles
As mentioned earlier, this section will be gradually expanded over the coming weeks. It will include a comprehensive series of articles about different types of synthesizers and samplers. Art of Sound team has just finished sound program development for Shrek The Musical (Based on the Dream Works Animation Motion Picture and The Book by William Steig - Music by Jeanine Tesori, Lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire. Originally produced on Broadway by Dream Works Theatricals and Neal Street Productions). We have spent hundreds of hours developing original samples, sound programs, SFX and synth setups for two Kurzweil PC3K8 and Kurzweil K2500RS synthesizers.

PC3K:Works – Synth Collection & PC3:Works – Synth Collection: Now Even More Powerful and Flexible
Art of Sound announces the PC3K:Works - Synth Collection and PC3:Works - Synth Collection update. Most of the sound programs have been improved (especially Synth Pads, Vintage Synth emulations and Synth Basses) for even better sound quality and user comfort (e.g. new Low Pass, Hi Pass, Band Pass and Notch filter modulations, new onboard MIDI controller settings, more program layers/splits per sound, new KDFX effect settings, etc.). Many sound programs based on Kurzweil PC3´s internal Saw, Sine and Square samples (PC3:Works - Synth Collection - sound bank: SC_PADS1.PC3) have been completely re-designed.

Art of Sound announces the sound program development for the Studio DVA Theatre Prague, Evita musical (Author: Andrew Lloyd Webber). This project was one of our greatest challenges in the area of soundware development for theatrical performances, with over 650 sound programs and setups designed for three Kurzweil PC3K and Kurzweil K2600R synthesizers.

PC3K:Works – Electro & PC3:Works – Electro: Deeper Sound, Greater Flexibility
Art of Sound announces the PC3K:Works - Electro and PC3:Works - Electro update. Some of the sound programs have been enhanced for even better sound quality and user comfort (e.g. more program layers/splits per sound, new KDFX effect settings, etc. ). Most of the sound programs based on Kurzweil PC3K´s KB3 Mode (sound bank: EL_ORKB3) have been completely re-designed. Many sound programs also contain more modulation parameters for the real-time onboard MIDI controllers. In addition to the 20 new “Hidden Bonus” sound programs have been added free of charge.

The PC3K:Works - Electro (Kurzweil PC3K) contains more than 550 sound programs and PC3:Works - Electro (Kurzweil PC3) contains 450 sound programs (clavinets, electro pianos and electro organs).
